The Hallucinator is the first asymmetric model in our lineup. Inspired by the biomechanics of the human body and the possibilities of asymmetric designs, this board offers an unparalleled feeling.
The idea for the Hallucinator came about while working on a symmetrical prototype. We felt that something crucial was missing, and we let our minds wander: “How cool would it be if…” – these thoughts eventually led to the creation of the "Hallucinator." The result: a board that combines effortless speed, radical turns, and smooth surfing.
"Asyms"
Nothing about our body is symmetrical – so why should we surf on a symmetrical board? On an asymmetric shape, the biomechanical differences between the toes and heels can be balanced, improving the ride. Originally developed for the sea, the concept was designed to generate more speed on the forehand without sacrificing tight turns on the heelside.
For river surfing, asymmetry offers special potential: effortless speed on the toeside combined with butter-smooth transitions from rail to rail and tight turns on the heelside make the surfing experience on the Hallucinator unique. Frontside carves feel more controlled and powerful than ever, while backside bottom turns and setups for snaps flow as smoothly as on hardly any other board.
The asymmetric outline of the Hallucinator is the heart of the design:
Toeside: A relatively full, straight outline provides effortless speed. The pointy tail extends the rail line while still giving you the necessary grip in backside turns and snaps.
Heelside: A tapered and shorter outline allows for tight turns, smooth transitions, and maximum rail grip for controlled carves and snaps. The combination of speed and control makes the board the perfect tool for surfing that’s both smooth and radical at the same time.
We recommend the Hallucinator for weak to medium-strong waves, such as Eisbach, Leinewelle, Ebensee, and citywaves like Vienna, Zurich, Lucerne & JSA.
The fin setup of the Hallucinator can be adjusted depending on wave strength: Stronger Waves: The classic 2+1 setup offers maximum stability and control – ideal for powerful turns and radical maneuvers. Weaker Waves: A quad setup on the heelside, paired with a twinzer setup (twin fin or regular side fin combined with a forward-positioned twinzer fin) on the toeside, takes efficiency to a new level and allows you to get the most out of even the least powerful waves.
Julian is 183 cm tall, weighs 80 kg, and rides the Hallucinator in 5'6. Phillip is 187 cm tall, weighs 85 kg, and rides the Hallucinator at the Eisbach in 5'8, and in other waves, in 5'6. Nina is 165cm tall, weighs 62kg and rides the Hallucinator in 5‘1.
