The wave in Augsburg is fast, powerful, and characterized by a steep, tight transition. To surf this unique wave with true confidence, a specialized shape is required.
The AUX was developed in close collaboration with Till Geier, founder of the "Surffreunde Augsburg," specifically to meet the demands of the Augsburg wave. It is designed to be surfed significantly shorter than our other shapes, allowing for maximum control without losing flow.
An extremely pronounced nose rocker ensures the board fits perfectly into the tight transition and stays above water even in critical moments. The bottom contours of the AUX are specifically adapted to the needs of the Augsburg wave:
The focus of the AUX is clearly on control. This enables maneuvers that are otherwise difficult or impossible to pull off in Augsburg: clean turns, explosive snaps, and high-performance carves and tricks. Thanks to its balanced design, the AUX offers a stable, controlled ride suitable for all levels—from motivated beginners to experienced surfers.
We recommend the AUX exclusively for very powerful waves like in the Senkelbach in Agsburg or powerfu 2-module conditions in Nuremberg.
We surf the AUX with either FCS2 Performer fins, depending on our mood – both in size M, paired with a Rebelfins Rapid center fin. Personally, we mostly use the Neo Glass construction from FCS or even stiffer constructions.
Julian is 183 cm tall, weighs 80 kg, and rides the AUX in 5’1. Phillip is 187 cm tall, weighs 85 kg, and rides the AUX in 5'2. Nina is 165cm tall, weighs 62kg and rides the AUX in 4'9. The AUX should be ridden considerably shorter than our other models.
